What is the point of this Substack?
I launched this page to share my thoughts on economics, politics, and beyond. I may also summarize ongoing academic research. The writing will be somewhat in-depth, but not as formal as an academic article. The target audience is knowledgeable non-specialists, but my fellow economists are certainly welcome!
I don’t intend to write anything unless it seems nobody else is saying it. So my promise to readers is that I won’t bore you by writing things that everybody else is saying. Expect novel takes, new ideas, and new applications of old ideas.
I do not intend to have a set schedule for posting on this page. I will simply post when I have something to say that fits this space. If you would like to make sure you do not miss anything, you can subscribe below.
My Background
I am an economics professor at Clayton State University, where I have been since 2014. I earned my PhD from UC Santa Barbara, and my fields of research are macro, public, mathematical, and monetary economics.
